Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme to Expand for Bengal’s Female Graduates from July 2025

New Monthly Allowance and Skill Training Added for Young Women Under 30

The West Bengal government is set to roll out a new phase of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme, targeted specifically at female graduates aged 18–30, starting July 2025, as confirmed by the State Women and Child Development Ministry.

Under this new extension, eligible women will receive a monthly allowance of ₹1,200, along with access to skill training and digital literacy programs through government training centers and NGOs.

What’s New in Lakshmir Bhandar 2.0

The updated scheme will include:

  • ₹1,200/month direct benefit (up from ₹1,000 for general category)
  • Free access to vocational training in IT, tailoring, healthcare
  • Digital skill certification for those completing short-term courses
  • Priority access to government internship pools

“This is not just cash support — it’s an empowerment pipeline,” said Minister Shashi Panja. “We are addressing both economic and skill gaps among young women.”
